Subsidy for insulating glass and frames in the Netherlands 2027

With the Dutch government's ISDE scheme you get money back when you have HR++ or triple glazing installed. On this page you can read how much, on what conditions and how to apply.

Amounts

How much subsidy do you get per m²?

The amounts apply per square metre you replace. If you carry out another insulation measure within 24 months or have a heat pump installed, they are doubled.

Amounts per m² for one measure, according to RVO for 2027. Check the current amounts on rvo.nl before you apply.

Worked example

15 m² of triple glazing in new frames

You receive € 825 in subsidy (15 × € 55).

Do you also insulate your roof or floor within two years, or have a heat pump installed? Then that becomes € 1,650.

With HR++ glass you receive € 450 for the same 15 m², or € 900 doubled.

Conditions

Do you qualify?

The ISDE is for owners of a home in the Netherlands. Do you live in Belgium or Germany? Your region or government has its own schemes there. These are the main conditions for insulating glass in the Netherlands.

  • You own the home and live in itOr you move in straight after the renovation.
  • The house was built before 2019Built before 1 January 2019, or the permit was applied for before 1 July 2018.
  • At least 3 m², at most 45 m²All glass together. You may add windows together and round up from 0.5 m². Anything above 45 m² does not count.
  • Installed by a professional companyInstalling it yourself does not count. We supply all the details you need.
  • Glass with a registration codeHR++ with Ug max. 1.2, triple or vacuum with Ug max. 0.7, and the glass is on RVO's registration code list.
  • Apply after installationWithin 24 months after the work is finished. Applying in advance is not possible.

What does not count?

  • Glass in a place where there used to be a solid wall, for example a new sliding door in a wall.
  • Single glazing and double glazing without an insulating coating.
  • The triple glazing amount if you keep the old frames: you then get the HR++ amount.
  • Only a ventilation system as a second measure: that does not double the amount.

Budget

Is there still money available?

RVO sets a budget for the ISDE every year. Once it is used up, you can no longer apply that year. So do not wait too long to apply once the work is finished.

You can see how much budget is left on RVO's page ISDE: stand van zaken budget. It is updated regularly.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about subsidies for glass

Do I get the triple glazing amount if I don't replace my frames?

No. For € 55 per m² you must also have new frames installed. If you only replace the glass, you get the HR++ amount: € 30 per m².

Can I apply for the subsidy before the work is finished?

No. You first have the glass installed and pay the invoice. Then you apply, no later than 24 months after installation.

How does the doubling work?

Do you carry out another insulation measure within 24 months, such as roof, floor, facade or cavity wall insulation, or have a heat pump, solar water heater or heat network connection installed? Then the subsidy for your insulation is doubled. A ventilation system alone does not count for this.

What is a registration code?

A product code from RVO for glass that qualifies for a subsidy. You can find it in the Meldcodelijst Hoogrendementsglas on rvo.nl. We put the code on your invoice so you don't have to look it up yourself.

Is there also a subsidy for a new front door or frame panels?

Yes, if you have HR++, triple or vacuum glass installed at the same time. An insulating door must have a Ud value of at most 1.5, insulating panels a U value of at most 1.2. The better the insulation, the higher the amount. The current amounts are on rvo.nl.

Can I apply for a glass subsidy twice?

Yes. You may apply twice for glass, as long as the second application falls within 24 months of the first glass installation. Handy if you have the front and back done at different times.

I own a listed building. Can I also get a subsidy?

Yes, adjusted conditions apply to listed buildings. Glass for secondary glazing in a listed building may have an insulation value of up to 5.8. See RVO's page for listed buildings for details, or ask us when we measure up.

Does a new sliding door or folding door count?

Yes, if it replaces an existing sliding door or existing windows. The glass then counts as insulating glass. If it goes where there used to be a solid wall, it does not count.
