Have roller shutters installed

Roller shutters give you security, privacy, peace and quiet and a cool house in summer. Also available as a burglar-resistant shutter and as a shutter and screen in one box.

Why a roller shutter?

A roller shutter is a curtain of slats on the outside of the window. In summer it keeps the sun and heat out, and in winter it works as an extra layer of insulation. A closed shutter darkens the room and dampens noise from outside. That's nice in a bedroom.

Burglar-resistant

An ordinary roller shutter already makes break-ins harder. If you want more certainty, choose a certified burglar-resistant shutter. The Aluprof Safety Plus has class RC2 and a blocking device in the bottom slat, so the shutter cannot be pushed up by hand.

Surface-mounted, built-in or front-mounted

In new builds the shutter is often built in, so the box disappears into the facade. On an existing home we usually fit a front-mounted shutter: the box then sits on top of the window on the outside.

Roller shutter and screen in one

Torn between a roller shutter and a screen? With the Aluprof SkyTwin you have both in one box: the screen for warm days and the shutter for the night and winter.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a roller shutter and a screen?

A roller shutter is a solid curtain of slats: it keeps heat and cold out, darkens the room and adds security. A screen is a fabric that blocks the sun's heat while you can still see outside. With the Aluprof SkyTwin you have both in one box.

What does burglar-resistant RC2 mean?

RC2 is a class under the European standard EN 1627. A window or door with RC2 holds off a burglar with simple tools for at least 3 minutes, RC3 for at least 5 minutes. The longer it takes, the sooner a burglar gives up.
