Why aluminium windows?
Aluminium is strong. That means the profiles can stay slim, even with large windows and heavy glass units. You get more glass and so more daylight than with uPVC or wood. Aluminium does not rust, does not warp and never needs painting. Washing it once or twice a year is enough.
Modern aluminium windows have a thermal break: an insulating strip between the inside and outside of the profile. Together with HR++ or triple glazing they insulate excellently.
Windows: which opening type?
- Tilt-and-turn: tilts open at the top for ventilation and turns open for cleaning.
- Turn: opens like a door.
- Tilt: tilts open inwards at the top.
- Tilt-before-turn: tilts first, and only turns open at the next handle position. Safe with children.
- Fixed glass: cannot be opened, but gives the slimmest profile and the most light.
Doors
A front door usually opens inwards, a back door or garden door outwards. French doors have two doors with the handles in the middle. If you want a real eye-catcher, a pivot door is a great choice: it turns around a pivot point in the door itself.
HR++ or triple glazing?
HR++ glass insulates well (Ug max. 1.2). Triple glazing insulates even better (Ug max. 0.7) and, in the Netherlands, gets almost twice as much subsidy per m² when it goes into new frames.
Colours
Aluminium windows are available in any RAL colour, smooth, matt or textured. The inside can be a different colour from the outside, for example anthracite outside and white inside.

Frequently asked questions
Should I choose HR++ glass or triple glazing?
HR++ glass has an insulation value (Ug) of at most 1.2 and triple glazing of at most 0.7. The lower, the better it insulates. Triple glazing is more expensive, but keeps more heat inside and, in the Netherlands, receives almost twice as much subsidy per m² when it goes into new frames.
Why aluminium and not uPVC or wood?
Aluminium is strong, so the profiles stay slim and more glass and light fit in. It does not need painting, is available in any RAL colour and is easy to recycle.
Which colours are available?
All RAL colours, smooth, matt or textured. With aluminium, the inside can also be a different colour from the outside, for example anthracite outside and white inside. We bring colour samples when we measure up.
What does burglar-resistant RC2 mean?
RC2 is a class under the European standard EN 1627. A window or door with RC2 holds off a burglar with simple tools for at least 3 minutes, RC3 for at least 5 minutes. The longer it takes, the sooner a burglar gives up.
