How does a louvred roof work?
The roof consists of aluminium louvres that you can rotate electrically. When they are open, you have sun and fresh air. Half open they give shade, and fully closed they keep the rain out. The water drains via gutters and downpipes concealed in the profiles.
Freestanding or against the facade
A louvred roof can be fitted against the facade of your house or freestanding in the garden. With the Aluprof MB-OpenSky a segment can be up to 7 metres long and 5 metres wide, and you can link two segments.
Options
- LED lighting in the louvres or all around.
- Screens on the sides, against sun, wind and prying eyes.
- Glass sliding walls, so you can sit there in spring and autumn too.
- Wind, rain and sun sensor, so the roof responds to the weather by itself.
Permit
A veranda at the back of the house is often permit-free, but that depends on the size, the location and your local council's rules. In the Netherlands you can check via the Omgevingsloket; we are happy to help.
