Why Arslan Aluminium
How did Arslan Aluminium start?
Owner Mehmet Yilmaz: “I have always enjoyed working with my hands and seeing the result straight away. With aluminium and glass you can really transform a home: more light, more space and a sleek look. That combination of technology and craftsmanship appealed to me. When I saw how happy customers are with the end result, I knew this was my trade.”
How much experience do you have?
Mehmet has been working in the aluminium and glass industry for [X] years. In that time he has gained experience with windows, doors, sliding doors and folding doors, for both homeowners and businesses.
How do you work?
We first visit you to look at the situation, discuss your wishes and measure everything accurately. You then receive a clear quote with no surprises. Once you agree, we schedule an installation date together. We work tidily, stick to our agreements and leave the work area clean. Afterwards we go through everything together, so you can be sure it is all right.
Why choose Arslan Aluminium?
You have one point of contact from measuring to handover, and we are there for you after installation too. We deliver made-to-measure work with the systems of Aluprof, Schüco and Reynaers, give honest advice and use durable materials that last long and need little maintenance. Measuring is free and you get a 10-year guarantee.
What makes you different from large companies?
With us you have one fixed point of contact: whoever measures up is also involved in the installation. No call centre or constantly changing fitters, but personal attention and short lines of communication. That lets us act quickly and respond flexibly to your wishes.
What should I look for when choosing a window company?
Don't just look at the price, but also at the quality of the materials and the installation. A cheap window that is badly fitted will leak or let in draughts. Ask about experience, guarantee and examples of previous work. Pay attention to the insulation values of the glass and frames, as that makes a big difference to your energy bill. And choose a company that comes to measure up first, rather than quoting a price without seeing the situation.
Why shouldn't I just choose the cheapest?
The installation largely determines how long your window or glazed front lasts. A cheaply installed window can start to leak, let in draughts or stick, and then it costs you more later. We work with quality materials and install according to the manufacturer's instructions, so you can enjoy it for many years.
Can I see examples of previous work?
Certainly. Photos of completed projects will be added to this website. If you'd like to see it in person, you can also visit a project at a satisfied customer's home by arrangement.
Do you also take on small jobs?
Certainly. A single door or replacing a pane of glass: no job is too small. It's precisely by doing small jobs well that customers come back for bigger projects.
Do you also work for businesses and contractors?
Yes, besides homeowners we work for businesses, contractors and owners' associations. Think of company entrances and large glazed fronts. We stick to schedules and work safely on site.
Quote and planning
How do I request a quote?
On the quote page you choose what you want per product, enter your own dimensions and add everything to your quote basket. Then you send the whole request in one go. We contact you to arrange a measuring appointment and then send you a tailor-made quote.
Is measuring free?
Yes. We visit you free of charge and without obligation to measure everything and advise you on the version, the glass and the colour.
What do aluminium windows cost?
The price depends on the type of window or door, the dimensions, the type of glass, extras such as roller shutters or trickle vents, and how accessible everything is. That's why we make a tailor-made quote for every home. Build your request on the quote page; after the free measuring you receive a quote with a fixed price.
How long is the delivery time?
Windows, doors and sliding doors are made to your dimensions. After you accept the quote, it usually takes 4 to 8 weeks before we can install. You will hear the current schedule when we measure up.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Ulft, right by the German border, and supply and install throughout the Netherlands, in northern Belgium and in western Germany. We do the measuring and installation everywhere ourselves.
How quickly can you come round?
We can usually visit within 13 days to measure up and give advice. After the visit you receive the quote within 48 hours, so you don't have to wait long.
Can I get a price estimate first?
Yes. Send photos and rough dimensions via WhatsApp (+31 6 36 40 57 59) or email (info@arslanaluminium.nl) and you'll get an initial price estimate. For a final quote we always come and measure up, so there are no surprises later.
What is useful to know about the price?
Measuring and advice at your home are free. You always get a fixed price in advance, including materials and installation. We discuss any extra work with you before we carry it out. Combining several products, for example windows and roller shutters, is often cheaper. Extra costs can arise from, for example, removing old frames or unexpected problems behind existing work, but we always discuss these beforehand.
Can I pay in instalments?
That depends on the total amount. For larger jobs, paying in parts is possible. The quote states exactly when you pay what, so you know where you stand in advance.
Products and choices
Which brands do you work with?
We work with the aluminium systems of Aluprof, Schüco and Reynaers. On the products page you can see which series we supply per brand, with photo and cross-section.
Why aluminium and not uPVC or wood?
Aluminium is strong, so the profiles stay slim and more glass and light fit in. It does not need painting, is available in any RAL colour and is easy to recycle.
Should I choose HR++ glass or triple glazing?
HR++ glass has an insulation value (Ug) of at most 1.2 and triple glazing of at most 0.7. The lower, the better it insulates. Triple glazing is more expensive, but keeps more heat inside and, in the Netherlands, receives almost twice as much subsidy per m² when it goes into new frames.
What does the Uw value mean?
The Uw value indicates how much heat escapes through the whole window: frame and glass together, in W/m²K. The lower the number, the better the window insulates. A well-insulated aluminium window with triple glazing is below 1.0.
Which colours are available?
All RAL colours, smooth, matt or textured. With aluminium, the inside can also be a different colour from the outside, for example anthracite outside and white inside. We bring colour samples when we measure up.
What is the difference between a sliding door and a folding door?
With a sliding door, one or more large glass panels slide past each other, so part of the opening always stays closed. A folding door folds aside like an accordion, freeing almost the entire opening. A sliding door has larger glass panels and more view when closed.
What is the difference between a roller shutter and a screen?
A roller shutter is a solid curtain of slats: it keeps heat and cold out, darkens the room and adds security. A screen is a fabric that blocks the sun's heat while you can still see outside. With the Aluprof SkyTwin you have both in one box.
What does burglar-resistant RC2 mean?
RC2 is a class under the European standard EN 1627. A window or door with RC2 holds off a burglar with simple tools for at least 3 minutes, RC3 for at least 5 minutes. The longer it takes, the sooner a burglar gives up.
Aren't aluminium windows cold or expensive?
Modern aluminium windows have a thermal break and therefore insulate excellently. They cost a little more than uPVC to buy, but last much longer, need hardly any maintenance and are slimmer, giving you more glass and light. In the long run they are often the cheaper option.
Can I have my existing windows adapted instead of replaced?
Sometimes, yes. Often just the glass can be replaced with HR++ or triple glazing, or the hardware can be renewed. We honestly look at what the best and most affordable solution is, even if that means you don't have to replace everything.
What about burglar resistance?
We use burglar-resistant hardware with SKG stars and all our windows and doors are available to the standard of the Dutch Police Secure Housing label (Politiekeurmerk Veilig Wonen). That gives peace of mind, and some insurers even give a discount for it.
Subsidies and rules
Is there a subsidy for new windows?
In the Netherlands, the ISDE scheme gives you a subsidy on insulating glass from 3 m². In 2027 that is € 30 per m² for HR++ glass and € 55 per m² for triple glazing in new frames. If you carry out another insulation measure within 24 months or have a heat pump installed, the amount is doubled. Read more on our subsidy page.
I live in Belgium or Germany. Can I also get a subsidy?
The ISDE applies only to homes in the Netherlands. Belgium and Germany have their own regional or government schemes. We are happy to think along with you when we measure up.
Do I need a permit for new windows?
Replacing windows usually does not require a permit. For a listed building, a protected townscape or a significantly changed front facade, it may be different. Check with your local council or ask us when we measure up.
Do I need a permit for a veranda?
A veranda at the back of the house is often permit-free, but that depends on the size, the position on the plot and your local council's rules. Check with your council; we are happy to help.
Installation, guarantee and maintenance
How long does installing the windows take?
That depends on the number of frames. The windows of a house are usually installed in one to a few days. You will know in advance exactly how many days we need and in which order we work.
What do I need to prepare for the installation?
Remove curtains, net curtains and items in front of the windows and keep about a metre clear on the inside. Make sure we can reach the facade, for example through the garden. We cover the floor and tidy up afterwards.
How much guarantee do I get?
You get a 10-year guarantee. The exact guarantee conditions are in your quote.
How do I maintain aluminium windows?
Aluminium is low-maintenance. Wash the frames once or twice a year with lukewarm water and a mild cleaning agent, without abrasives. Lubricate the hardware once a year with a little oil or grease. The Schüco maintenance booklet is under Downloads.
What if something unexpected comes up during the job?
If we come across something that needs extra work, such as rotten wood or a crooked wall, we stop first and discuss it with you. You always know the cost beforehand, never only afterwards.
What happens to my old windows?
We take them away and dispose of them responsibly. Aluminium is fully recyclable, so the material gets a second life.
Do you also install in winter?
Yes, we install windows in winter too. We then work one frame or opening at a time, so your home is only open briefly and stays warm inside.
What if I'm not satisfied?
Then we'd like to hear it straight away. We'll come and see what isn't right and fix it. A satisfied customer is the best advertising for us.
